At Your Appointment
The nature of your visit will determine the flow of your day. When you first arrive at Edwards Dentures and Implants, everyone is asked to complete paperwork including a detailed medical history. Your overall systemic and oral health are directly correlated with one another, so it’s important we have an accurate medical history for treatment. Once all paperwork is completed, a member of our team will take your blood pressure and obtain a panoramic x-ray. The panoramic x-ray is required, and allows Dr. Edwards to properly and safely diagnose any problems in your mouth and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
For same-day treatment, you will first be called back between the hours of 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM. Dr. Edwards will evaluate your needs and develop a personalized treatment plan based on your chief complaint, oral evaluation, and the information displayed in your x-ray. When the two of you have agreed upon a treatment plan, an upper and lower impression will be taken of your mouth. After the impression is obtained, it will be sent to our on-site lab where your denture and/or partial will be custom fabricated. If you are not having extractions, we ask you to return at 2:00 PM when we begin delivering dentures as they are completed by the lab.
For patients who are having teeth extractions in preparation for dentures or partials, we ask that you return to the office no later than 12:30 PM. Once your extractions are completed, your dentures and partials will be delivered to you. Dr. Edwards will go over your post-op instructions before you are ready to leave. On your way out, a member of our team will assist you with scheduling a 7-10 day follow up appointment. It’s important to us that we make sure you are healing correctly and that your dentures are fitting as intended.
If you are here for emergency extractions only, we complete those procedures between 10:00AM and 12:00PM. We ask that you remain in our waiting room until you are called back for your treatment.
