A native of Eastern North Carolina, Dr. Edwards grew up in Kinston, and credits his interest in dentures and implants to his grandfather, Dr. George L. Edwards Jr., who founded a local denture clinic in 1975 - just across the street from where we are located today. Growing up around dentistry, and watching the joy his grandfather, and later his aunt, Dr. Robin Edwards, brought to their patients and community, Dr. Edwards was inspired to follow in their footsteps and began his own journey towards a career in dentistry in 2007. After high school, Dr. Edwards attended the University of Georgia where he met his wonderful wife. The two graduated together in 2011 and decided to move back to North Carolina. After a short stint at North Carolina State University, Dr. Edwards attended the University of North Carolina school of Dentistry. Upon dental school graduation, it had been 11 years since Dr. Edwards began the long path to becoming a dentist. He missed his friends, family, and life in Eastern North Carolina. Eager to get back home, he and his wife packed up and made the 110 mile move back to Kinston. After a few years of being home practicing general dentistry, Dr. Edwards decided he wanted his focus to be in dentures, extractions, and implants - just like his grandfather and aunt. “There’s just something special about helping someone get their smile back. Whenever I’m having a tough day, it all seems worth it when someone surprises me by jumping up out of the chair and slapping me with a big hug and a new smile.” Once his aunt, Robin Edwards, retired from dentistry, he decided to take the opportunity to begin a new chapter. With the opening of Edwards Dentures and Implants, Dr. Edwards hopes to continue the family legacy. At Edwards Dentures and Implants, we treat you like family. We deliver smiles: a family legacy since 1975.
